The Yongsan Aikikai is a group of martial arts enthusiatists practicing the Japanese art of Aikido. The term "Yongsan" is actually a Korean phrase which means "Dragon Mountain". The origination of this name for our Dojo springs from our instructor's previous dojo which was originally started in the Yongsan area in Seoul, South Korea under the Korea Aikido Federation. We have elected to continue with this name in order to keep the spirit of the "Dragon Mountain" alive in our Aikido practice.
You can read more about the history of our dojo and its roots in the "About Us" page. Additionally you can read more about the art of Aikido in the "About Aikido" page.
The Yongsan Aikikai is covered under the British Aikido Board as a member of Kobayashi Dojos UK. Additionally, the Yongsan Aikikai maintains its original affiliation with the Korea Aikido Federation and Aikido Kobayashi Dojos in Japan and through these organizations it is affiliated with the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Japan.
